Choosing reading books at home
I am aware that choosing a book for your child can be a little daunting. To help your child decide whether they would be interested in a book, I have linked a great free website called lovereading4kids. If you sign up with your email all you have to do next is search for the book and click on it. Finally, on the left hand-side in an orange box it will say, 'Read an Extract'. This will let you read the first chapter/s for free to see if they would like to read the rest.

David Walliams is releasing free audio stories each day for the next 30 days! I have linked the first story (read yesterday) below. This might help your children keep busy during this strange time.

All children in Year 6 have been given a readtheory login. This website bases the difficulty of its texts based on the number of correct answers given during each reading comprehension text.

Your child has had an account created for this website. They have unlimited access to online Maths, SPAGS, Reading and Spelling activities and games for free. I have already sent you your child's login details - if you do not have these, please email Mr Hall for more information.
I have attached the link for your child to complete quizzes on the books that they are reading at home! Quizzes are allowed to be completed between 8:45am and 3:15pm. Children know they must only complete a quiz if they have finished the book and have read to an adult. It doesn’t just have to be their school reading book, it could be any book they are reading at home (providing there’s a quiz on it).
Please use the link below as typing in accelerated reader on google never seems to work! They should know their login. If they’re not sure just email me!
