School Council
School Council 2025-2026
Welcome
Here at Christ Church, we believe in giving our children the confidence and aspiration to be the very best they can be. Through our School Council, pupils are given a meaningful voice and the opportunity to take on leadership roles, help shape decisions within the school community and support our local community. By taking part in activities such as meeting local leaders and representing their peers, our council members develop ambitious aspirations and begin to see themselves as future leaders who can make a real difference in the world.
The School Council regularly to share and discuss views and is made up of Year 6 members. Their role is to ensure that the voice of every pupil in the school is fairly represented and to promote our school values and Christian Distinctiveness.
What do the children think about School Council?
- They think it is important that as a Council, they represent everyone in school and carry forward ideas from their peers in class.
- They believe they should be an outstanding role model to others in school.
- All think it is important to raise money for school and other school supported charities.
- School Council is fun and they enjoy coming to meetings to discuss important things.

Meeting the Mayor
One of their first activities our School Council took part in this year was an exciting visit to meet the Mayor. This was a fantastic opportunity for council members to learn about local government and the role the Mayor plays in our community. During the visit, council members asked questions, shared ideas and gained a deeper understanding of how decisions are made to improve our local area.
